AAA discount isn’t always best deal

Reading Time: 1 minute

Doing some online travel planning yesterday. Usual stops to Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline. Plugged in our distinations, got pricing on a few hotel chains we prefer (La Quinta, Hampton Inn).

Cross checked the pricing for La Quinta on their own Web site and the “LQ.com exclusive” prices were the same as what online “agencies” are offering.

Ever the curious shopper, I went back through the LQ reservation process and checked the AAA membership box.

I was dumbfounded as the price displayed was HIGHER than prices displayed without checking the AAA box.

AAA discount isn’t always a discount.
